Eve and the serpent...

Ceramic, fired bisque. No armature and no molds used.

I like ceramic clay (sometimes) because I can rough in the sculpture really quickly. I also like how, without an armature, I can "tweak" the pose, make subtle changes in the twist of the torso, neck, or legs... an option that is not as easy when building over an armature. The finished sculpture is sometimes not as refined as other materials would be, but it serves as a good quick study and perhaps a maquette for something later.

I did not use a model or any reference on this piece-- sculpted from my imagination only. :-D

Great piece! I like figurative work too (in clay), and I like the freedom to "tweak" the pose as you say. I love the hands here. About how big is this?

I find the ears to be most impressively rendered. *applauds*
I like how you sneaked the fruit onto it as well.
